The stockings were hung.... finally!

I decided this year that I wanted to make stockings for our little family of three! I've known since around Thanksgiving time that I wanted to make them, but just got started making them last week! After three long evenings/nights of working like crazy and a lot of help from my mom they are finally done! They look great and I love the way they turned out. I'm not the sewing one in our family and i would be lying if i said that i made the stockings myself. My mom did a lot of the work while i was busy taking care of Ansley, but I helped when i could and did exactly what my mom said! :) Thanks mom for helping they turned out great! I've been so busy that i forgot to buy Ansley a stocking holder!! Oh well I don't think she will mind this year.

******yes this is a few days late but we have been busy and out of town***********

SAD

That's all I can really say is that I'm sad because today Ansley got a bottle for the first time!! :( She took it like a pro and only cried for a few minutes until she figured out that there was milk inside that funny nipple. I pumped this morning and at 9:15 she got her first bottle of breast milk. Zach gave her the bottle and drank a total of 1.5oz!! She fell asleep after an ounce, but woke up a few minutes later and ate 1/2 an ounce. She went right to sleep after that and has been asleep ever since! She's getting bigger and it was all I could do not to cry while watching Zach feed her. She didn't want to be held and he got her to take the bottle on the ottoman! Not bad for her first bottle and I'm sure she will still need her cuddle time with mommy! :) She will get two bottles a day from now until I go back to work, unless were out for the evening and she is left with a sitter. (who am I kidding it will be gma and gpa). I'm glad she took the bottle on the first try. After I burped her and no puke followed I just cuddled with her for a while. so sad.....................

bottle with daddy!!!!

Last night we delivered candy to the neighbors! This is what Ansley was dressed in!! Zach and I just laughed and laughed! Doesn't she look like the little brother from The Christmas Story!

Merry Christmas everyone!!

BiG ThaNkS!!

We would like to give grandma Carolyn a big thank you for making Ansley's birth announcements! They turned out great and a big thanks to Teresa and Seth for helping her. See we were suppose to make these on my due date November 15! I was scheduled to be induced on the 16 and i just knew i wouldn't deliver early (boy was i wrong). We had it all planned out that after Sunday dinner we would start making them, but we didn't make it to Sunday dinner that week because we were at home with our 2 day old baby! :) Anyway, they were made without me and I feel bad that I wasn't there to help, but I love them! Thanks to everyone that helped!

BiKer ChIcK

biker chick!

This morning when i woke up miss Ansley Jane was wearing this! Our morning routine goes a little something like this: Ansley normally wakes up around 6 or so. Daddy gets up with her and changes her. He then brings her to me and she eats! After she eats either she goes back to sleep or goes down stairs with daddy and he brings her back in a few hours normally dressed and crying because she is hungry. This is what she was wearing this morning when he brought her to me!!! lol! He thinks she's going to be a biker chick! This shirt gma and gpa McCaslin got her when they went to south Dakota!

This was Zach's motorcycle he had until the economy got bad and he decided to sell it when Hawker started laying people off and it was a good thing to because look at us now! He liked this bike but really wanted a Harley! After the economy picks back up and daddy has a job I'm sure him and Ansley will be taking rides around town! :)

This morning I also woke up with the kitchen floor mopped and one bathroom! Zach was folding Ansley's clothes and brought me OJ and toast for breakfast while i was feeding Ansley! What a wonderful husband!!

1 month

I can't believe its been a month already! Time has flown by and I only have 6 more weeks of with my chunky monkey! I know I won't be ready to return to work, but with Zach being laid off I don't really have a choice (not that I had a choice even if he was working). Here is what Ansley has been up to in the last month:

  • She can hold her head up while being held
  • she can recognise her mommy and daddy's voices
  • still wearing newborn clothes and diaper (they are getting a little tight)
  • She stay awake for at least 45minutes after some feedings
  • she loves looking around the house at her surroundings
  • gets up every 3 hours during the night
  • eats every 2-3 hours
  • still has her umbilical cord stump
  • loves her bouncer and boppy
  • still spitting up a lot, but I'm hopeful after our visit with the chiropractor yesterday that will soon stop :)

I'm sure I'm leaving something else out, but that's all that I can think of right now!

I've had a few emails/texts about Ansley's Santa outfit! Here's the website if your interested, but we got it as a gift so i don't know much about the company.

Ansley gets to see Santa again this weekend, so I'll post more pics next week!

tis the season

Let me start off by saying that Ansley's newborn pictures are up!! They are great and I'm not sure how we will ever pick! Click here and go to enter site then click on clients on the bottom. You will see Ansley's name and you can view all of them. Laura took my sisters senior pics again this time in winter attire!! You can also view them under clients and Alicia 2010!! I'm not sure why she needed two sessions of senior pics, but they look great! Thanks Laura you did an amazing job on both!!! We are all very pleased and lots of money will be headed you way :) lol.

Ansley had another busy weekend! She went to church for the first time and went to see Santa! My dad works at GE and they had a free GE deal where you got to visit Santa and receive a 2 dollar bill! She was all dressed up in her Santa onesie with her pink, black and white tutu! She slept while she had her picture taken, but I'm sure she loved it. We even had our family pic taken with good ol' saint nick! And we couldn't visit Santa without both grandparents. I swear we looked like the paparazzi with all 3 cameras taking pics! :)

I've been concerned for a while now with Ansley and all the spitting up she does after eating! After this weekend of projectile vomiting all day on Saturday i decided to take her to the doctor today. She was suppose to go Friday for her one month check up, but i decided that I didn't want to wait. I believe that its the mexican food i ate on Friday that caused the projectile vomiting and by Sunday it was gone, but she still spits up a lot! I'm talking a bib and burp cloth soaked after some feedings!!!! CRAZY!! But my little chunky monkey weighs 9lbs 2oz!! I couldn't believe it! The doctor told me that some babies just spit up more that others and that she probably has a small case of acid reflux, but he didn't want to do anything about it since she was gaining weight. So i guess we will both continue to be covered in puke! If anyone has any solutions I'm all ears!! I've heard about taking babies to the chiropractor and that he can help somehow, so i might call ours this week! She also has a mild case of thrush. A yeast infection in her mouth. We are starting medication for that, but the pharmacy was so busy that they haven't had time to fill the prescription yet, so I'm still waiting to see what they put her on. Other than that she is a happy healthy baby that is growing like crazy.

Ansley also still has her umbilical cord stump! She is 24 days old and of course i was worried about that today too, but the doctor said it looks fine and will fall off soon! I sure hope so because it is getting old cleaning that nasty looking thing.

I believe we are all ready for Christmas! The tree is up, all 4 of them actually! The lights are on the house and they look great! Thanks honey. I've started wrapping gifts and we are almost done Christmas shopping. I'm hoping to make our last trip to Wichita this weekend to buy for Zach and to get a few other things!

Have a great week

Cutest little turkey!

Daddy and Ansley (on his phone as usual)

At least in our eyes! We had a great thanksgiving dinner with family and friends! Ansley had a great first thanksgiving and slept most of the day. We were able to visit both of our families and had a great day. Zach's aunt and uncle were in town from Colorado and got to see Ansley for the first time. It was great to see them and hopefully we can make it out there soon.

Ansley continues to do great. We had a bad night on Sunday and ate every hour for 12 hours straight!! I hope it was just a growth spurt because i was a walking zombie Monday. She has been acting great since them and seem back in our routine of eating every 2.5-3hours! She is growing like crazy and weighs over 8lbs now!! She has changed so much in the past couple of weeks its unbelievable!!

I know in my last post I talked about going to the Christmas tree farm. Zach and I have been going for a few years now and I really enjoy it! (me more than Zach lol). Well we have been looking for a couple of years for a fake pre-lit tree, but didn't have any luck finding the one that i wanted. Walmart had a 7foot xmas tree on sale on black Friday and I decided to go ahead and buy one. I know I'll miss having a real tree but i won't miss the mess!!

Today we made our first trip to Wichita. We went Christmas shopping and Ansley was a trooper. She slept most of the day and was very well behaved when she was awake.

Here are a few pics we have taken over the past week!

Thanksgiving day!!

Cutest little turkey!

This is how i found Ansley yesterday in her pack n play! She was in a sleep sack, but managed to kick her feet out and move to the bottom of her positioner!! lol

LOVE!!!!!!

Ansley had her pictures taken this morning and all went well. She slept for about 20-30min, but was a happy baby when she was awake. I really felt like today's session went a lot better and can't wait to see them! Well, my wait didn't last long! The sneak peak is already up! I love them!!!! Click here to check them out! Laura you did an amazing job and can't wait to see the rest.

As I sit here and look and the pictures i know how blessed we really are. Ansley Jane you are perfect and even though you have only been in our lives for 11 days, our lives have been forever changed. We love you so much and I can't imagine loving anything more than you. You have brightened our lives, shown us what true love is really about and we are so proud of you. I love feeding you and in the middle of a feeding you break out in a huge smile! awww you melt my heart and we love you so much. You have touched so many lives in the 11 days you have been born and are loved by so many. I hope you know how much you are truly loved and cared for.

Hope you enjoy the sneak peek!

Wish us luck!

With round number 2 tomorrow with pictures i am praying that all goes well and our little bundle of joy sleeps through it. I'm so excited to have them taken and can't wait to see what an awesome job laura does.

We have been busy this past weekend and the last part of last week. Thursday, we made a quick trip to Derby to Target. We needed a few things for Ansley that walmart doesn't carry, plus i needed some nursing bras. No place in this town carries them! Awww the joys of living in a small town. After our trip to Target we stopped by my grandparents so my grandpa could see Ansley for the first time. He just carried her all over the house and it was great seeing them together.

Friday, was Ansley's one week doctors appointment. All went well and she gained 2 ounces. I was so worried that she wasn't getting enough to eat, but all my worries are gone now with a weight gain. She continues to sleep most of the day and is up from about 3-5:30am. Hopefully, this passes soon. :)

Saturday and Sunday were such busy days that its all a blur. We visited with lots of family and Ansley made her first trip to my parents and Sunday dinner at Zach's grandma's.

mommy and Ansley!

Daddy's girl!

Happy Thanksgiving and I hope to get to the Christmas tree farm this weekend!!

Not sleeping beauty!!!

At least not for her pictures yesterday! She is every other time :). Yesterday morning we had Ansley's newborn pictures taken or we at least attempted. Laura came over at 1oam to take her pictures and any other day even today that time would have been perfect, but not yesterday! We were up most of that night and I just knew that she would sleep, but she was wide awake and not very happy most of the time. She ate 30min before Laura got her and ate again 15min after she arrived. As she was naked she started pooping and pooped on Zach, her swing and chaning pad!! After an hour of Laura being here I asked if she could come back because i really want pictures of her sleeping and naked in all the cute things that Laura had brought. So take two is scheduled for next Tuesday at 9:30 so wish us luck and again my apologies to Laura.

Ansley is continuing to do well eating and pooping and sleeping like every little newborn. If i could only get her to sleep 4 hours in a row at night and not in the day things would be perfect, but oh well she is perfect and thats all that matters.

I continue to worry about every little thing from germs to being too cold and of course SIDS. I can be soooooo tired at night, but i think what if she stops breathing and then of course I can't sleep becasue I have to get up and check on her. We even have the monitor that detects if she isn't breathing after 15 seconds, but i still continue to worry. Awww the worries of a first time mom. Speaking of mom's my mom came over to help watch Ansley this morning. Zach went to help my dad sort cattle, so she came to visit for the morning. Thanks again.

We have a small wedding to attend to Saturday morning and that will be our first trip out with little Ansley, besides from her doctors appointment on Friday. I don't understand why Doctors don't make house visits when it comes to newborns. So now I'll be sitting in the offce Firday morning looking around at all the sick people and stressing that they are going to get us sick!! UGH. I think I'm starting to sound like a crazy mom and she's not even a week old yet lol.
