Well, after several months of fighting ear infections, we finally had tubes placed in both kids' ears! With Karson totaling 6 ear infections in 6 months and Ansley 6 in two years, we have hopefully found a cure! We arrived early Monday morning at 6am! We left the house a little after 5! Karson wasn't able to nurse after 2am and by 4:45am he was up for the day! His normal happy self (he gets that from his daddy). I was worried about him crying of starvation the entire way to wichita, but nope never heard a wrd out of him! I grabbed Ansly out of her bed and put her straight in Teresa's car! We were off! Ansley never did go back to sleep and either did Karson, but the trip was a huge success and no big disasters, until we arrived. Ansley was very uncooperative! She didn't want anyone to touch her! She would scream and yell anytime a nurse would come close! So after a little sedation of Versed, she was in lala land! Teresa and I were a little worried about her, she was so lifeless and everytime she moved, it was in slow motation. She would laugh, but was not her normal self! Poor baby, I hope she never has to be sedated again! :( Karson's surgery was scheduled for 7:30am and around 7:15 he was getting hungry! I paced our little area with him and a few minutes later he was asleep. They came and took him from me asleep in my arms! The surgery took a total of 15minutes and then they took Ansley! She was still slightly sedated and she didn't hardly cry when they took her away!
We met both kids in the recover room! Karson was of course the first to arrive and I nursed him right away! The doctor said both ears were full of fluid and his right ear was so bad, that he probably couldn't even hear out of it!! :( Ansley arrived and was a little grouchy, but had some apple juice and within 10 minutes we were on our way home! Karson decided just before leaving that he would vomit all over gma Teresa! Poor gma was covered in vomit! The doctor said that Ansley's right ear had quite a bit of fluid behind it, but her left ear was clear!
Karson slept part of the way home and Ansley looked exhausted! By noon both kids were back to normal! Thanks Teresa for taking us! There would have been no way that I could of went by myself!
