Big Girl Bed!

While Zach was off work for Christmas break, he turned Ansley's crib into a big girl bed! She was so excited and spent most of the day jumping off of it! A few days later we took her to Wichita on a mommy and daddy date, where she spent her Toys R Us gift card buying Princess bedding! O, how she loves Princess'! She was in heaven and for about the first week sleeping in her bed went great! But now, its a nightmare! She will typically go to bed fine, but around midnight she finds her way into our bed! O, its horrible! Most mornings we wake up with all four of us in our small queen size bed and a dog at our feet! I'm hoping this ends soon! Here are a few pics of her new bed and bedding!! She is growing up way too fast!

Christmas 2011!

I'm going to have to back date this, since its already January! I have great intentions of making a blog book for the past 3 years, and after we get our new computer this week, I'll have no excuses! Christmas 2011, I of course had to work so most of our Christmas' were done before Christmas! We celebrated with my parents and Zach's parents on Christmas eve and with everyone else the following weeks! Ansley loved opening presents this year! Karson of course could have cared less, but all in all our kids are spoiled! My mom ordered matching jammies for the kids! Loved them!! I can't remember a whole lot from Christmas, so here are some pics! :)

Dentist: 101

Lets just start with that two is not the age to take Ansley to the dentist. I of course missed her first time to the dentist, due to my lovely job, but Zach and Grandma Teresa took her! She was terrified! Would not open her mouth for anything! So, that appointment was short and sweet with nothing to report except a Dora toothbrush and toothpaste! Ansley loves to brush her teeth and most nights we brush her teeth with no problems, so the dentist wasn't too concerned about not seeing her pearly whites! I did notice last week that she is getting her 2 year mollers in on the bottom! Only two more to go and we are done with teeth! :) Here are a few pics from her experience!

There's a new pony in town!

My dad called me a couple of weeks ago, saying that he bought the kids a miniture pony and he would be at our house in 10minutes to show them! I was feaking out and told him several times that he better be joking and thankfully he was! Here is our new pony from uncle Wes and papa Mike! Ansley was terrified of this thing at first, cried when Zach put her on it, but now she loves it and goes for a ride everyday!

Karson: 4 months

I'm a couple of weeks late on Karson's 4 month stat's! What a suprise huh?? :) The week of Karson being 4 months old, we had an appointment to get his shots, but both kids came down with coughs and runny noses! Teresa took the kids to the doctor and sure enough both had ear infections! So no shots for Karson, but we did get a weight on his chubby butt! 18lbs 10oz!! He is one big boy! I call him my chubber lubbers! :)

Started rolling over from his back to his tummy the day after Christmas and no we can't keep this boy on his back! Loves to rollover, but only lasts a few minutes before he gets mad
wearing size 3 diapers
Wearing 6-9 month clothes, more 9 months these days
Moved him to his crib last week, thinking he might sleep better, but no such luck. He was sleeping soooo good from 10-4 from the time we brought him home from the hospital, but now its every 2-3hours! Its killing me! I can't sleep at home or at work!!
Started cereal last week, but he hates it a gags on it!
loves to be held and to cuddle, most nights he sleeps on me just so I can get a few hours of sleep in :(
loves the bumbo and exersaucer.
smiles and laughs all the time! The out loud laughs, melt my heart.
pukes all the time, we go through about 3 outfits a day
eating about 5-6oz, when he has a bottle. Only has a bottle when I'm at work.

Karson: 4 months almost 19lbs!

Gingerbread Festival 2011

O, how I love the gingerbread festival! We started going last year and enjoy looking at all the gingerbread houses that everyone makes! This year Zach and I volunteered to help get the gingerbread kits ready and make frosting! Zach's mom and grandma came after we were done volunteering to decorate our own house! Ansley of course thought she would rather eat the candy than actually build, but we still had a great time! Thanks Teresa and Carolyn for going with us.

Santa 2011

A couple of weeks ago, we went to visit Santa in Ark City! My dad works at GE and every year they have Santa make an appearance at the Ag building. Ansley was so excited and talked about Santa the entire way down their and while standing in line, but Zach and I both knew when it came time to sit on his lap, the tears would start to flow and sure enough they did! Scared to death! Poor girl! This was our third year taking Ansley to see him and Karson's first year. Karson our fat and happy baby even started to cry when we sat him on his lap! lol. Ansley even got a balloon from the clowns and played a few games! Thanks dad for taking us! :)

Baptism

On Ansley's Birthday Karson was Baptized at the First United Methodist Chruch by the wonderful Beth Wilke. Of course Zach's grandma Carolyn made his christening gown! It was beautiful! Thank you so much Carolyn! Karson is so fat that he was unable to wear the socks and hat! lol! This kid is a chunk! Thank you again Carolyn! I will be taking it to the cleaners to be put in a keep sake box, so he will forever know that you made it! :)

Ansley: 2

Ansley turned 2 on Sunday! I can't believe my little baby is already 2! :( It seems like just yesterday we were up for hours at night walking the house, trying to get her to sleep and now she is so grown up. She is a bossy, sassy, full of spunk, loving, hitting and fighting two year old with a mind of her own. Miss independent without a doubt. It seems impossible to believe all the things she has learned over these two years.

She had a Minnie Mouse birthday party this year and had a blast. We rented a bounce house for her and all her friends and they all loved it! :) Here is what this smart little cookie is up to:

Can say her first and middle name when you ask her "what is your name?" Needs help with her last name, but can repeat it back to you as cCaslin. :) too funny
Loves story time at the library
Loves to read books in general and every night read at least one book before bed
Can count to 10 by herself
Can count to 5 in spanish with VERY little help
Can talk like its no one's business :)
Loves to play outside, especially with Mya and Macy
Loves to play with her babies
Is a very good big sister that is a little too rough sometimes with him, but always wants to hold him
Is a big helper when is comes to taking care of her brother, cooking and cleaning

Everytime I tell her that I love her she says "I love you mommy" awww, just melts my heart
Loves going to Grandma Peggy's! On the morning's she goes there she jumps up in her bed and yells gma Peggy, Mavrick, Addalyn and Whitley! Then says "O they are nice" :) (thank you gma Peggy, Im soooo glad she is in good hands) *tear*
Takes a nap in mommy's bed almost everyday

I love you Ansley Jane! I can't believe how much our lives have changed since you came into this world! Thank you! You make me a better person and proud to be your mommy!

The Swing Set!!!

Ansley will be 2 in just a few days and as long as she has been able to walk she has loved Mya and Macy's swingset she will go up and down the slide and always wanting to swing! We enjoy spending time with the neighbors but Ansley definately needed her own! So a couple months ago we noticed the swingsets were going on sale due to the end of the scorcher of a summer! We finally got her one and Zach and his Dad set it up a couple weeks ago. To see her face when her, grandma, and Karson pulled up was awesome! Her eyes were glowing, she was screaming at the top of her lungs, and just as happy as any almost two year old could ever be! Needless to say she absolutely loves it! We didn't get any pics of the building of it but here are a few afterwards and some of the kids enjoying their new toy!

Fall 2011!

Yes, I know this post should have been before Halloween 2011, but hey you get what you get these days! :) We headed to Applejack's Pumpkin Patch in early October with our great friends Jamie, Luke, Landen and Jaycie! It was a cold and dreary day with rain on any off. We happened to think that it wouldn't rain while we were there, but boy were we wrong! It poured on us! We were there a total of 5 minutes before the rain started, so needless to say we didn't get to enjoy the pumpkin patch! :( We did manage to get a few pumpkins from the patch before heading home! Maybe next year we will have better luck.

We did manage to carve a couple of pumpkins thanks to Zach and his dad! Ansley didn't want anything to do with it!

Halloween 2011

Finally, pictures of Halloween! We were busy, busy on Halloween night! I think we made 11 stops and still skipped 4 stops! Its was crazy, but the kids were champs and acted great the entire night! :) Ansley got a ton of candy this year and had a hard time putting her candy in her bag! She wanted to eat every piece she got at each stop! :) We left the house at 5:30 and retured at 8:30 with some very tired kiddo's!

I can't believe my little man was 2 months old on the 19th! Time is flying by! He is such a good baby and if I could guarantee that every baby would be as happy and good as he is, I'd have a whole litter! lol. JK, he is our last one. He is growing like crazy and has the biggest cheeks ever! I will say that we looked at Ansley when she was 9 weeks old and they look IDENTICLE!! :) Here is what this little man is up to this month:

Finally, getting use to drinking from a bottle
wearing size 2 diapers and ready for 3-6 months clothes
I take him to the doctor tomorrow for shots, so I'll have a weight then, but I'm guessing over 15lbs!
Sleeps great at night usually in bed by 8 or 9 and up at 3ish and 6ish!!
pukes all the time, just like big sis did
has discovered his hands, more his right than left
"talks" and smiles all the time
starting to lose his hair
everytime he gets a bath, you can guarantee that he is going to pee :)
Loves his swing and play mat
Eating between 3 to 4oz at a time
nursing seems to be going really well and I hope to continue for a year
Loves getting attention from big sis :)
loves it when you talk to him! He just talks and grins like crazy!

Ten on Thursday

Yes, its no secret that I am behind yet again. With couponing, taking care of two little ones and planning someone's SECOND birthday, I've been a little busy! :) So here is what we have been up to:)

Grandma took us to Disney on Ice! It was amazing! We all loved it. Teresa and I probaby enjoyed it more than Ansley :) Thanks grandma!!

2. My awesome friends threw Karson and I a baby shower/meet and greet! Thanks Brandy, Jamie and Kristi!

3. Its no secret that this little one gives us a run for our money. This is probaby so inappropriate, but yes thats a pad stuck to her left leg area! lol. She tries to be like mommy.

4. This was taken several weeks ago. Aunt B came over for a little snuggle time with fatty! :) Love those rolls!

5. Although Ansley is a little rough with her little brother she does love him and wants to hold him all the time!

6. This is how far behind I am!! YIKES! This is from labor day at the lake!

7. Nothing beats a good nap! :) I belive we all three took a nap this day in my bed! :)

8. Karson's first bottle a 5 weeks while we were visiting Zach's aunt and uncle!

9. We went fishing one evening and as I was getting Karson's bed ready, he fell asleep in about 2 seconds on our bed :)

10. This was our first ever halloween party! This was last weekend! Ansley had a blast!! :)

Tomorrow I return to work! ugh. I hope can keep up with the blog a little better

Ansley's first pet!

Its no secret that I'm not a pet lover. I hate cats, with a passion and we will never own one! *sorry to all the cat lovers* I like dogs and Zach and I have had several since being together, but lets face it they are a lot of work and with 2 kids, I'm not about to clean up or look at more poop! :) When we got home from having Karson Greg and Teresa sent us some beautiful flowers and Ansley saw the vase and immediately thought there was a fish in there just like at grandma Carolyn's house. That's when I decided that we needed a betta! :) Grandma Teresa thought it was a wonderful idea and bought all the supplies, other than the vase and one afternoon we took Ansley to the new pet store in town. :) There were only 3 different colors to choose from and this is the one that she picked out. :) She loved it and named it Ansley! lol. The little fish was doing great and seemed to like his new home, until this week! opps! I cleaned out the water and found him dead the next morning! See were not pet people. Well grandma Teresa bought us another fish that looks exactly like the dead one and Ansley doesn't even realize that the first one is dead! Aww to be 1!! :)

Karson-1 month

Its hard to believe that my little man is already a month old! He has grown so much in the last month and has gained nearly 3 pounds! Yikes. He is going to be a big boy!! :) He is a really good baby, but has started to puke all the time like his sister use too! :( Ugh. I feel like 90% of my day I'm covered in poop, puke and urine. Between trying to potty train Ansley and of course the "flying" pee from Karson I'm constantly cleaning and looking at booties! :) That's ok, I don't mind, I love staying at home with my kiddo's! :) At least most days!!!

Here are Karson's birth stats: 8lbs 12oz. 21 1/4 inches long.

At our one month appointment he weighed 11lbs 14oz and was 22 1/2 inches long!

Here is what he is up too this month:

Can hold your head up for several seconds/minutes while being held with no trouble
nursing only, haven't given you a bottle yet
You are fussy in the evenings for about 2 hours-although I think its getting better
You are in size 1 diapers and 0-3 month clothes (you lasted one week in newborn diapers and about 3 weeks in newborn clothes)
You sleep everyday from noonish to 4 like clock work
You sleep at night from 10 to 1 or 2am. Seems like most night's you eat 3 times :)
You love your swing and it puts you to sleep everyday for your long nap
You only cry when your hungry and by looking at you, its all the time!!!
You love to cluster feed in the evenings and I'm pretty sure you would eat all evening if I would let you :)
You sleep the best on mommy at night! :) I'm sure going to miss this when I go back to work

You are a growing baby boy and I love you bunches little man

You be the judge :)

Ok, here you go pictures of both Ansley and Karson as newborns! Do they look alike?? I think so! :) Although Karson's cheeks have sure filled out in the last month and is looking more and more like my baby pics!

But, I still see Zach so much in both of them :) Look at Ansley's dark hair :) Its crazy how much their features change in just a year!

OKC: July 2011

I had every intention of blogging about our first family vacation way before Karson's arrival, but as you can see that didn't happen! :) We went to OKC for a weekend with our great friends Jamie and Luke and their kids! We had a great time and sweated our booties off! It was HOT! We went to the zoo and lets just say we lasted a whole 3 hours. I was 35 weeks pregnant and sweating profusly and everyone else may not of been carrying around an extra 35+++ pounds, but WE WERE HOT and sweaty! There was actually a lot of shade and we arrived right at 9 when they opened, but it was still too hot for us. We stayed in Bricktown and enjoyed our evenings walking around and enjoying what Bricktown had to offer. Our hotel had a great indoor pool for the kiddos and we had a great time! Thanks again for going with us! We are great travel buddies! :)

It's been a rough day around here. :( We found out today that Zach isn't going back to Hawker for at least 3 more weeks, when he was suppose to start on Tuesday. :( Saw this picture and it brightened my day!

We have been home for almost a week now and we are adjusting very well! :) Ansley is a little rough, but loves her brother very much and is always available to help! :) Today, we had our first traumatic incident, Ansley accidently stepped on Karson!!!! Holy crap scared Karson, Ansley, and I all to death! They were both in tears! She didn't notice that he was laying on the floor! She stepped on his legs and I believe he is ok, nothing broken that I can see. This little man is going to have to get tough FAST!!

Karson is eating and sleeping great! He really likes to sleep on me and would sleep all night if I'd let him. Last night he slept in his bassinet all night only waking up twice!! :) He is a growing boy and we went Friday for our 1 week check up! Doing great weighing in at 9lbs 3oz!! We left Wesley on Monday with him weighing 8lbs. 6oz! I'd say he's getting plenty to eat! lol. He is a really good baby and usually only cries when he's hungry.

Here are a few pics from the NICU. I'm so thankful we were only there a few days! There are some really sick babies there and I'm truly thankful and blessed that we have a healthy family!

Big news in our family!! Zach is going back to Hawker Beechcraft!! After almost 2 years of being laid off they called him back last week! :) This is awesome!! We just hope no lay off's are in our future!

I'm sure most of you know by now that we are all home and healthy!! We have kept facebook up to date the best we could and for those of you that don't have facebook, here is a little update on our little man. Thank you to everyone that has kept us in your thoughts and prayers, we greatly appreciate it! I know I read complete strangers blogs and love seeing how everyone else is doing even if I don't know them, so I guess this is for you, and a memory that our family will never forget! :)

As my husband last posted I was going to try to nurse Karson on Sunday and see how things went. I was so nervous and scared I could hadly wait to nurse him, but at the same time the fear of the unknown or him turning blue was a huge fear that I did not want to face again. Around 8:00am we were in the NICU waiting on the doctor to make his rounds to give us the ok, that I could indeed nurse. Shortly after 8 we were given the go ahead to nurse whenever Karson wanted to eat. :) Great news! By 10am we were ready for the challenge! I think Zach and I were both so scared that we didn't know what to say or do besides let our little man eat and pray for the best. Zach had his phone out and we were timing how long he nursed. Karson latched right on and in no time we were feeding our little one. He ate great and after the 4 minute mark, he didn't turn blue!! :) We were so relieved! He nursed for over 20 minutes with no complications!! :) This was great news and we would be leaving the NICU after 2 more feedings!! Around 2pm it was official we were out of the NICU and checking into the Special care unit with our son and sleeping in a room with him! First time since his birth that we would be able to stay the night with our son! What a great feeling! Karson continued to nurse great and wanted to eat all night and would only sleep on me!! :) Whenever I put him in his crib, he would cry until I picked him up! He is such a little cuddler and I was eating it up!! At last our little man is healthy and going home was in our future!! We were all finally able to cuddle our little one with no NG tube, ecg monitor and iv!! Awwwww, It was amazing!!!

We were dismissed from Wesley yesterday around 11:15 and home by 12:30!! It is such a great feeling to be home and be a family!

A huge thanks to Zach's parents for keeping Ansley while we were away and bringing her to see us everyday!! :) Thanks to all of our family and friends that came to visit us, we greatly appreciate it! We have amazing family and friends!

Karson Michael McCaslin!

August 19th, 2011 at 3:39 pm Karson Michael McCaslin came into the world with a bang! The cord was wrapped around his neck during delivery and had to be cut before he could be delivered! He purked right up though and was given an apgar score of 6 and then 8 at 5 minutes! He was doing very well and seemed to a happy healthy boy! Weighing in at 8lbs.12.6oz. and measuring 21 1/4 inches long! He looked like a middle linebacker from the moment they layed him on his mommys stomach! During the first feeding after approximately 4 minutes of feeding he started to breathe very fast, stopped feeding, then stopped breathing all together and began to get very blue! As calm as I may have seemed I think I might have been as scared as I have ever been. After picking him up and stimulating him some he pinked right back up and was back to a perfectly healthy boy! This happened 4 times throughout the evening and the last time Dr. Bryan Dennett was there to witness it. He decided that the best place for Karson to be was in the NICU at Wesley in Wichita. Karson was back to stable and resting comfortably as the Dr. and Nurses got ahold of the NICU and by 10 pm the ambulance was there to take Karson to Wichita. Karson slept most of the way up and mommy rode in the ambulance with him and I followed. We arrived around 12am and were immediately met by numerous nurses, Respiratory Therapists, and the Dr. on call for the evening. Definately a comforting feeling knowing that so many people were there to dedicate their time to take care of our new pride and joy! They all made sure he was stable and warm, took a chest x-ray to look at the lungs and see if anything stood out that could possibly explain what was going on. Chest x-ray and blood cultures both came back good. They told us he looked very healthy and still werent sure about a diagnosis. He was started on a wide spectrum antibiotic just incase there was an infection somewhere. The doctor wanted to have a Cardiologist do an ECG on him this morning. He was asleep and needed to rest so Melissa and I came to the waiting room to try and get a little bit of sleep before it was time to pump again and feed Karson. Melissa was up at 440 and I got up at 530. Karson was still doing good and sleeping alot. Woke up a few times and cried but guess thats what babies do. The nurses told us we really need to go get some rest. We decided to check into a hotel across from the hospital. We got back to the NICU around 11 just in time to meet with the Dr. about Karson's ECG result. Karson's heart is in great shape and looks to be strong, but he seems to have a condition called pulmonary hypertension which is a condition where the unoxygenated blood and oxygenated blood are combining together a small amount causing him to choke and turn shades of blue you would never want to see on anyone! Let alone your hour old baby! All in All this was great news because it is something his body has to resolve itself and usually within a couple of days it is solved and you go home! He is going to be fed through a tube for the rest of today and tonight and in the morning we are going to try the breast feeding again! We are all doing well and just takin it easy this afternoon! First Haircut!

My baby had her first haircut a few weeks ago! :( She was a perfect angel. I of course brought her a sucker and she was entertained for the entire 5 minute haircut! She never moved a muscle and would look over at the camera's (both gma's were there) and say "cheese" with the cutest little smile. She doesn't get candy very often and a sucker is definately a rare occasion, except when she see's Lacy at the bank! She loves going to the bank now that she know's they have suckers! :) Anyway, we were so impressed with how well she did we even went out for a snow cone that evening!

This years 4th of July was a little more exciting than last years! ansley got to participate and seemed to enjoy the fire works a lot more! mainly poppers and sparklers! Zach of course had some fire crackers and ansley has came up with the word "Banga" when anything sounds like a gun! Zach and some of his family shoot guns on sunday and thats all ansley says every time they shoot! We got a whole $12 in fireworks this year so it didn't last too long. Gma and Gpa came over and shot them off with us and we had a pretty good view of the city fireworks from the back deck! Looking forward to Ansley growing each year and being able to enjoy it more and more! Here are a few pics of the evening!

Its been over a month now, but we have done a little bit of fishing this year. Zach's uncle has a pond next to the house and we spent a Sunday afternoon fishing! Ansley loves the bobbers and her fishing pole that gma and gpa got her. Of course its hook free, but she still thinks she is big stuff. Caught quite a few small catfish! Nothing big enough to save but still had a good time! Probably would be fishing a lot more but this heat is terrible and makes it not much fun!

I'm of course behind again! Story of my life these day's! We have been busy little beaver's this summer! Ansley is currenty in swimming lessons (the last week for that), we have been enjoying story time at the library (grandma Teresa has been taking her a lot to that, which ended that week) and we were in Wacky Water where Ansley wasn't quite ready for what art class had in store. Wacky Water was a week long class, which we only attended 3 days. Ansley would paint or do whatever other activity was going on for that day, for about 10 minutes. It was a 30 minute class, so I spent the other 20 minutes chasing her up and down the hallway. Maybe next year she will be ready for summer activities. :)

Oh, how our little one has grown in the past year! I was looking at pictures from last year at the pool! My chubby little baby was barely crawling and now look at her! :( She is big stuff or at least she thinks! She's starting to talk like its no one's business! Her latest word is "Bess you" meaning Bless you. She says it any time someone sneezes! Too cute! And of course there's the attitude that goes with it! The pinching, hitting, saying "no" and of course throwing herself on the floor when she doesn't get her way! She is my baby that isn't such a baby anymore and it breaks this mama's heart! :( Here she was last year at about 8 months and now at 19! Oh, how she has grown! Love you bunches monkey!

I've actually been taking my camera with me the past couple of weeks! I know I was shocked too!! :) I'm trying to do better! We have been busy playing outside, swimming and playing at the park and of course playing with Mya and Macy! Make sure you read Brandy's post on SRS! lol. This little girl is quite the fish! She loves the swim and to be honest she scares me!! We were in the "big" pool and she was trying to float on her back and walk as far as she could, before going under! She has no fear!!! She discovered the slide and went down by HERSELF probably 30 times! She was so proud of herself!

I know I say this a lot and I really feel sorry for Karson. His Big sister requires all of our attention and time and I feel like I never get to blog about him! I guess he better get use to it though! lol. I am currently 30 weeks and have done terrible at taking pics of my belly! I think I've taken 5 total this entire pregnancy! Yikes, that's terrible. We start going to the doctor every two weeks now and I just did my glucola test last week. We will know the results of that at our next appointment. Let's just hope that I pass this time and not have to set for three hours at the hospital like I did with Ansley.

Zach worked really hard and we finally got Karson' room done! Its been done for probably a month and I love the way it turned out! The only thing left is to hang stuff on the walls. Here are a few pics of his tiny room. All of the clothes either came from garage sales or Jamie! Thanks again Jamie, you're a life saver.

I'm of course a little behind on this post, but about a month ago we went to Tanganika! Zach's parents went with us and Ansley had a blast! She was fasinated by the giraffe's but everytime we would get close she would get scared! We of course fed all the animals and this year Ansley and daddy rode the camel!

Oh, these two or I should really say three! Mya, Ansley and Macy are BFF's and I'm pretty sure that anytime Brandy leaves her garage door open, Ansley thinks its an open invitation to go on over! Mya and Ansley play pretty well together and most of the time are mean and pick on poor little Macy. This was the one and only time the temps got up to 98-100degrees for three days straight! So, of course we had to do a little swimming! Ansley wasn't real sure about it, Macy was teething and wanted nothing to do with it, but little Mya was all over it! Loved it! And after some time playing so did Ansley!

Oh, yes we know you are a little diva! :)

18 Months

I can't believe that my baby was 18 months old yesterday! She has changed so much in the last few months and grown into a beautiful toddler, that I can hardley believe it! She has an attitude like you wouldn't believe and the heart of gold! She can be such a lover when she wants to be! I'm loving every minute of being a mother and watching my little one grow! Here is what this little sassy thing is up to these days:

walking like crazy and has been since 13months! There is no stopping this little one now
Her hair is really starting to grow and we can now do pony and pig tails!
Blows kisses and says muah (that spelling is wrong I'm sure)
talking more and more everyday
can say no, mom, dad, what's that, two, shoes, cheese and many other words and sounds that I can't remember
knows the word bath and runs to the tub yelling "ba"
We have really been working on animals and the sounds that they make
Know's the sounds that a cat, dog, cow, chicken, duck, elephant, sheep and bee make
Know's where her hair, nose, mouth, teeth, eyes, ears, tummy, toes and knees are
In the morning's she tries to dress herself! Sometimes we try to wear our shirt as pants
Went potty for the first time today in her big girl potty! (No I'm not trying to potty train, but I'm thinking that she's getting close to being ready)
Know's where the trash can is and will throw things away if you ask

He has a NAME!

Finally, I didn't think we would ever agree on a name for a boy or a girl! I originally wanted to stick with names that started with an "A," and trust me we made a list of names that started with "A's" but we never fell in love with any of them. We had Adler, Asher, Axel, Aston and Archer. Out of those I liked Adler the best, but to be honest I wasn't in LOVE with the name! For the girls we had Aliya, Aubree, Adley and my FAV Aniston! See we had quite the list going and tucked away safely, but when the day came that we found out we were having a boy, we didn't like any of them! So the search continued.

We were on our way to Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago and I brought up the name Carson! We both loved it and have decided to do little bit of editing and go with "Karson." We haven't completely agreed on a middle name yet, but it has been narrowed down to either "Michael" after my dad or "Lee" after Zach!

Here I am at 24 weeks! My BFF Jamie told me that I needed to do a side-by-side of me at 24 weeks with Ansley and now with Karson! So Jam this is for you! :)

We had a busy Easter weekend! The garage sale went great and we got rid of tons of stuff! :) Ansley had her share of Easter egg hunts and my parents took her to the circus on Friday night! That's right we finally found out yesterday that we are having a baby BOY! Zach was so excited that he could hardly contain himself yesterday! :) We were suppose to of found out on Monday, but they had to reschedule due to a funeral, so we had to wait until yesterday! We are all excited and now its time to get the little guy's room ready! We are going with a western/cowboy theme! Trust me the bedding to choose from is hidious, so we are going to have to piece together a few things to make the bedding what we want! :) Here are a few pics from yesterday's sonogram!

Sesame Street Live

Grandma Teresa and Grandma Carolyn took Ansley to her first ever Sesame Street Live on Friday! I of course had to work, so I wasn't able to go, but by the pictures and videos she had a blast! Mommy to Be

No, I'm not talking about me! :) Check this little one out! She has mommy written all over her. She has started taking care of her "baby" which is really a bear that makes creapy noises, but she loves it! She even wraps it in a blanket and carries it all around the house! Its too cute! She's going to make a great big sister!

I haven't updated on our baby to be in forever! I apoligize to our little one for not keeping up with its progress better! Anyway, I'm 19 weeks! We find out April 4 if were having a BOY or a GIRL! I'm starting to show and my pants no longer fit! I've started wearing my belly band and I'm sure here in another month or so I'll be wearing my comfy maternity clothes!

Ansley has her 18 months pics taken next month, so I've been busy trying to figure out what she will wear! I bought an adorable little dress last winter at Carters on clearance of course! I think I paid $7 for it and love it! We are doing Laura's mini session, which we haven't done before. I'm a little nervous about only having 20minutes with an 18 month old, but I'm sure things will go great! At least I hope so! I decided to do 2 outfits! The dress and THIS!! O MY!!! I love this idea that I have and hope when it arrives I love it just as much and my idea pays off! My mom was at a craft fair a couple of weeks ago in Ark City at the Ag building. I went down for a few hours to help her out, when I came across this lady!! Love is idea, but of course she didn't have what I wanted in Ansley's size, but she of course does custom orders!! I contacted her through facebook, but she also has an Etsy account! Go check her out, you won't be dissapointed! She was great to work with!

I remembered seeing little Miss Brighton on Bethany's blog in these!! Love these leggings and thought they would go great with the shirt! She had two colors pink and a bight blue! I couldn't decide which color I wanted so I got both! :)

Where's Ansley?

Its no secret that me getting ready in the mornings takes forever, thanks to a certain little one! What would normally take 20-25min, now takes close to 40-45! Some mornings are better than others and Ansley truely is a great baby, but some days she wants my full attention all day long! :) Since last week things have changed, for the better! Me getting ready isn't taking nearly as long and Ansley has been entertaining herself for a few minutes! From the pics you can see what see has been doing! lol.

Yep, the bathroom cabinet is her new favorite hiding spot in the mornings! :) She empties everything out and climbs on in! Silly girl! She shuts the door for a few seconds and then opens it back to make sure I'm still in the bathroom! She will play in there forever! lol. Yes, I have a mess to clean up afterwards, but hey at least I can get ready in 20minutes! :)

p.s. red eye's in pics drive me crazy!! :( I should really take a class or something and figure my camera settings out!

Valentine's Day!

We had a very relaxing Valentine's Day! Didn't do much of anything! Daddy made us heart pancakes for breakfast and tatertot casserole for dinner! We left the house only twice! Once for a trip to Walmart and the other to my little brothers indoor soccer game!

Ansley received lots of gifts and goodies this year! She got lots of candy and chocolate. Along with finger paints, a bath toy and a blankie! She even recieved a card in the mail from grandma peggy with $5 inside! She loved it and took her money right to her piggy bank!! :) Thanks to everyone for all the goodies!

MIA

Yes, I have been MIA for a couple of weeks now! Our computer decided to lock up on us and had been getting repaired for 2 weeks! We are now back in business and I actually missed the blog world! I have so much to say, so I'll get started! :)

We had our Sonogram last week! Everything went great and our little one is growing like crazy. Growing so much that moved by due date up a week to Aug. 21 instead of the 27! Its little heart was beating great, it has two arms and two legs! That's all that matter's to me! We got three little pics to take home and show everyone! Ansley kissed the baby several times! It was too cute! Then I had a brilliant idea to laminate the pics! Well, in case you were thinking about doing this DON'T! All of the pics turned BLACK!! Now you can't even see the baby! :( So disapointed! I am currently 12 weeks, 13 on Saturday! Time has flown by!

Ansley is growing and learning like crazy! Two weeks ago we had an accident! She was running to her room to help get laundry when she tripped hitting her head on her rocking chair! She had a nice battle wound to her left eye! A little bit of bleeding and a small bruise to go with it! :( I felt horrible! I thought that she might need stitches, but after I held her down to get a closer look, it wasn't deep at all! I think I was more upset than she was. She of course cried and I in turned cried too! I called Teresa in a panic and luckily she came to the rescue! Ansley was so excited to see her, that she forgot all about her eye! Little stinker! It has now healed and no signs of a laceration exists! Thank goodness!

Every morning we watch Mickey Mouse! Here she is dancing away to the Hotdog Dance! She cracks me up!

We have of course been busy with the NEVER ending house work! :)

Ansley has started several activites this winter! We started play group a few months ago and we try to go once a week! We also started story time at the library. We have only been once, due to the weather, but she LOVED it! She walked right in and sat down on the story time mat. She sat there the entire time listening to all the stories!! Too cute! We also started music class! We have only been once again due to the weather! She wasn't real impressed with the first class, but I hope next time she enjoys it! 3 activites a week is enough to keep this mommy busy, busy!

Last week Zach put in a new faucet in the kitchen. Our's decided to give out and our handy daddy came to our rescue to fix it! :) He's a handy man and I'm so glad that he can fix anything that breaks! Once Ansley discovered that daddy was under the sink, she of course had to help! :)

BIG NEWS!

That's right exciting news in our house! We are expecting baby number two in August! :) Big changes are about to occur in this house, I just hope little miss Ansley is ready for it! I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and I am almost 8 weeks! YIKES! We knew the week before Christmas and to be honest we were a bit suprised! Yes, we were planning this pregnancy, it just happened a little sooner than we thought! We hosted a Christmas Eve lunch at our house this year with my parents and Zach's! We told them then! :) It was very hard for us not to tell everyone sooner, but we managed to not tell our parents!

Baby number two is due August 27, 2011! We have lots to do between now and then! Our little one's room is currently being used as storage and we have lots of cleaning to do before he/she arrives! I have a sonogram on Feb. 1st just to make sure everything is going as planned! Can't wait for that! We didn't have one with Ansley until I was 21weeks! :)

Tradition's

I love making family tradition's and with a little one it makes it that much more enjoyable! We started a few family traditons this year. The Gingerbread Festival, making homemade ornaments, Visiting Santa and of course going through the Isle of Lights! Which Ansley absolutely loved! She thought she was pretty big stuff being able to get out of her carseat and watch all the lights! I love being a mother and this time of year makes it all worth while! :) Here are a few pics from our family traditions!

I'm behind once again on this darn blog, and my husband reminds me daily! Sorry! There is only one of me and with everything going on, LIFE, I'm a busy girl! I am going to try to do better this year! First, I need to get my camera out more and take some pics of my growing little girl!

Anyway, We went to visit Santa early in December with my dad! GE has Santa make an appearance every year at the ag building in Ark City. We attended last year and I believe this will be an every year occurance! Ansley, was only a few weeks old last year, so she didn't care, but this year was a different story! She HATED poor St. Nick. Poor girl. She cried and cried! :(

Gingerbread Festival

This year we attended our first ever Gingerbread Festival at the hospital! Zach went hunting, so it was just us girls! Zach's mom and grandma came with us too! We had a blast and Ansley ate more of her gingerbread house than built, but we still had a good time! :)

I believe this was the third year for the gingerbread festival and they had a good turn out! They have a contest every year for the "best" gingerbread house! My co-workers and I got suckered into entering the contest this year! It was VERY stressful, but in the end we had fun and can't wait for next year. We ended up placing fouth :( My husband helped us out at lot with the construction of the house! He made the blue print and the helicopter! We of course ended up having an ambulance theme! We actually made our little corner of the hospital! It turned out great! Hope you think so too! We spent sooooo many hours working on this house! The pics below are of 1st and 2nd place! Here she is CLEANING away in her room! I was dusting her room and putting keepsakes away in her action packer when I turned around to find her doing this!! :)

Its no secret that I have OCD when it comes to cleaning and trust me I'm not as bad as I was before Ansley was born! Teresa even video taped her at her house cleaning her high chair with her burp rag! lol.

I typically do all my cleaning when she's asleep, but I'm sure I'm to blame for my 1 year old cleaning! lol

My husband will be so proud two post's in two days!! :) Anyway, back to the birthday bash!! I believe there will only be 2 parts to her party! :) So here we go:

Cake: Don't you just love this beautiful MASTER PIECE!! :) Credit goes all to Zach! He baked it and decorated it! :) Got the idea from good ol' Martha Stewart! (don't really care for her, but she does have some GREAT ideas!) I love, love the way it turned out and Zach was pretty proud of himself too! :) Good job honey!

Cupcakes: Again. Zach baked these too! :) I lucked out on the baking this year! :) Zach baked them early Saturday and decorated that night! Zach's brother came to help decorate and I love the way they turned out! We used milk duds for the ears! :) LOVE IT! Thanks again Seth!

HAT: I ordered her birhday hat from ETSY! Love that place! :) I ordered them from this store! Again, very easy to work with and I loved the way it turned out! If only she would wear it for longer than 2 minutes! I didn't order it in time for her 1year pics, but I still loved the way it turned out! :)

We also made the banner from Brenda's cricut!

TABLE: Here is a look at the table all decorated up! The balloons and rose were a gift from gpa and gma McCaslin! :) Zach picked up the banana's and peanuts at a Candy Store in Wichita! The Nifty Nut House! Love that place! I guarantee you will see an ambulance there if you go! We use to stop there all the time at work! :) Yummy!

The PARTY: We had her party at Kellogg Hall, west of town! It was a perfect place to have it! Besides, we couldn't fit everyone in our house! :) I forgot to take pics of the guest tables! We had a plate with the banana's and peanuts in the center, with suckers and soap around the plate! We also has this pic for the guests to take home! Thanks to Laura for getting us a pic so early! :)

Here we go with part 1 of Ansley's party! I'm hoping that there will only be two parts! lol. I started planning a few months before her party and I'm so glad that I did! Let's face it, I don't do well under pressure and when I'm surrounded by tons of people I become overwhelmed with stress! Hince why there aren't a tons of pics the day of the party or of all the decorations!

INVITES! Zach's grandma Carolyn and I made these adorable little monkey's! I found the idea from Martha Stewart and loved the way they turned out! Thanks again Carolyn!

PARTY FAVORS: I looked and looked all over for party favors and of course found almost every idea from Etsy or my cousin Bethany! (She's an awesome planner and loved all of the ideas she gave me) Thanks again Beth! :)

These adorble little banana's came from this shop! She was awesome to work with and the monkey erasers in the center were the icing on the cake! :) I got them in pink and yellow! I figured the few boys at the party wouldn't want pink!

Her Birthday shirt, balloons and PDF file came from this shop! I thought the balloons were going to be a little bigger, but I still loved them! I had a few issues with the PDF file, but Teresa figured them out for me!

Suckers! I made the suckers! Zach picked up the "I'm 1" mold from a candy shop in Wichita and were super EASY to make! I used a simple hard candy recipe with a little strawberry flavoring! SIMPLE!! I loved the way they turned out and I think I made 20 of them! I wrapped them with clear gift bags and put a "thank you for coming" sticker on them! :)

Monkey Munch! This idea came from Bethany! My husband made the monkey munch and it was a huge hit! I'll be honest I make the first batch and it looked terrible! I don't think I used enough powdered sugar! Anyway, my husband came to the rescue and it was delicious!

I ordered the plates and napkins online from here!

Thanks to my Aunt Brenda! She let me use her Cricut! I made 2 banners from her cricut! They turned out great and thanks again for helping with the banner's! I found the paper from Micheal's!

Wow, here we are a year later and I honestly can't believe how time has flown by! We had a great birthday party Sunday with lots of family and friends that attended! Thank you for everyone that attended, we truely have great friends and family! I'm a week behind on posting Ansley's 12month updates, so next will be her birthday post! At 12 months:

Currently has 8 teeth!
Can stand for at least 30econds by herself
Walked for the first time a few weeks ago! :) BUT hasn't much since then
Can still crawl a hundred miles an hour
HATES milk! I mean hates it! She gags and spits it out everytime I give her some in her cup.
Thanks to Kristi, I've started adding milk to her formula bottle at night and she drinks that with no problem! I'm hoping with in a week or so NO formula!
Has 2 bottles a day, but this week we are going to 1!
wearing size 3 diapers and 12month clothes
weighed 21lbs at her one year appointment
Starting to become a picky eater and has learned to throw her food off her high chair! Drives me crazy
Can say uh-oh, mommy, daddy and few other things that we can't understand
Has quite the ATTITUDE! throws herself on the floor and kicks and screams! I have a feeling 16 will not be fun!
Laughs at me/us when we smack her hand and tell her no! ~see what I mean by attitude!~
Loves to push her walker/s all over the house
loves taking rides in the wagon! I think our days of being outside are over :(
Still not sleeping every night!

Pumpkin Patch & the BIG pumpkin

Zach has Monday's off we headed to Applejack's Pumpkin Patch in Augusta a couple of weeks ago! Ansley's still a little young for all the fun activities, but we still had a great time. We arrived at 2pm not knowing that they closed in an hour!Opps, but we still managed to get everything done!

Oh, no NOT me! Are you crazy?? I got a little taste of what having twins would be like and lets just say I'm happy with just a taste! Here are the princess' happy as ever!

Jaycie and Ansley 3 months apart! Ansley 11months and Jaycie 8!

Jaycie came to spend a couple of hours with us a couple of weeks ago and the girls had a blast! They play great together, other than they both want to play with the same toys at the same time! Oh, and eat at the same time, but at this age they can both hold their own bottles, so I lucked out on that deal! I love Jaycie to pieces and she is such a good baby!

Notice she only has one sock on! lol. Thats thanks to Ansley. Ansley hates to wear sock and I guess she thought Jayice did too, so she helped her take them off! I think I put her socks on a dozen times that morning, just to have Ansley come rip them off!

Last week I had Ansley's pics taken by Kim Peri in her halloween costume! My mom made the shirt and bloomers, I made the tutu, Zach and his dad made her broom (which I forgot) and the leggings came from etsy! Alicia went with us to help with the outfit changes and for moral support. lol. We both left there thinking that Kim didn't get one good pic, thanks to Ansley not having it with her witch hat or tutu! I have to admit, there isn't one pic that I don't like! They are beautiful! CUTEST face you've ever seen!?! Yes, I know I'm bias, but can you blame me? :)

I'm loving this little princess to pieces! She has quite the personality these days and quite the attitude to go with it!! :) These were taken yesterday in the front yard, while riding her bike! Her feet finally can touch the ground and moves all over the cement by herself! She's getting so big and growing up way too fast! She loves to be outside and we sure are enjoying this weather.

That makes me sad just writing that my little monkey is 11 months old today! Time has flown by and I'm loving it, but part of me wants that newborn back! Being a mommy is an awesome feeling and hearing those words come out of her mouth, melts my heart! awwwww, I love you monkey!

Party planning is in the works and has been for a few months now! More on that and all the wonderful people that have helped with the party planning!

Here's what Ansley is up to this month:

said her first word this week! Uh-oh! Really, thats her first word??
Can walk behind her walker with no problem
will stand for a few seconds by herself
still showing NO interest in walking
Can crawl a hundred miles an hour!
Has 6 teeth, and were teething again
wearing size 3 diapers and 9-12 month clothes
Loves to play outside
pulls herself up to everything
Learned to drink from a straw (thanks to gma Teresa)
Hasn't been sleeping very well the last couple of weeks
Hates brushing her teeth
Eating all table food and will eat about anything we give her
Weights 20lbs 12oz (thanks to B for the scale, we also weighed Macy she weighs 19lbs!!) :)
HATES getting dressed!
Can get on and off her lion rider/walker with no problems
Her new favorite thing is to hide her toys under the couch
Has about 3 bottles a day
Can give kisses on command, but only if she wants to!
She will give you hugs and pat you on the back :)

I think that we have finally finished Ansley's halloween costume, and just in time for pics tomorrow! Zach and his dad made her a broom, my mom made her a shirt and bloomers, I fought making a tutu out of glitter tulle (remind me never to use glitter again) and thanks to my Aunt Brenda for the adorable idea for the witches hat! I contacted Kim Peri over a month ago and tomorrow we are doing a mini session in Ansley's halloween costume! Can't wait! Here's a little sneak peek of her outfit! Next up, is the spook parade in a couple of weeks and I have no idea what Ansley is going to ride in or how to decorate it!

Island Park

Monday evening we headed to Island Park to play for a little bit and to feed the ducks! I believe this is the first time we have been to the park as a family! I made dinner before we left and it was cooking while we were gone! Came home to a fixed dinner and a wonderful smell when we opened the garage! We swang, walked along the bridge (that daddy help build several years ago), went down the slides multiple times, rode the pony and of course fed the ducks and geese. It was a wonderful evening and I'm sure loving this weather. I actually went and bought Ansley some thick/warm jammies today! Its been pretty chilly in the house in the mornings!

Ansley has experienced several FIRST'S in the last week that I thought I'd share.

Went to Bluegrass for the FIRST time last weekend and danced her booty off! Gma & Gpa M bought Ansley a tie dyed shirt and we got her a ring for her 1yr pics! Ansley and I actually got matching rings!

3rd cousin Bryce was also in town for bluegrass

Walked behind her walker for the FIRST time last week, but since has shown no interest in doing it again.
Bought Ansley a forward facing carseat this weekened and took her FIRST car ride looking at the world from the front! :) I know were 2 months early on the carseat, so please don't send me hate mail!

Started gathering things for her FIRST halloween costume! She's going to be a WITCH! More on that later. I'm going to be busy making that!
Ansley got her FIRST severe daiper rash last week! Poor thing! Her little booty was so red and the FIRST night she cried while taking a bath! :( (she never does that and loves bath time). I think we finally got it under control thanks to bag balm and Destitin maximum strength! If anyone has any other ideas/options that cure's diaper rash qucikly please let me know!

Here we are yet again! Another month has passed and I don't think that I've said the word "no" more than I have in the last month! lol. Here's what our little monkey is up to this month!

Still crawling like crazy (has shown ZERO interest in walking)
Pulls up to everything and walks around the couch and the coffee table like a pro
loves to talk and scream
points at everyone and everything
can clap and wave on command
loves to dance :) VERY cute to watch
Drinking about 4 bottles a day
wearing 6-9 months clothes and size 3 diapers
loves her sippy cup and juice
a picky eater, just like her mommy
usually fights naps for 5-10minutes before falling to sleep
Sleeping from 8pm to 6 or 7am and normally will go back to sleep until 8am
Bites mommy and daddy! Trying very hard to break this habit and she seems to be understanding that its naughty (thank goodness she isn't biting at gma peggy's)
Has five teeth (mommy and daddy are trying to do better at brushing)
loves cottage cheese, lunch meat and cheese
Debating on moving to a forward facing car seat
Gives kisses at night and in the mornings! ~love those kisses to pieces~

I believe that sums up another month! Been ordering party favors and decor like crazy for her birthday! We love you so much monkey and couldn't imagine our lives without you! ~kisses~

Labor Day weekend

We had a pretty relaxing weekend and didn't do much of anything! Saturday, Zach went golfing in the morning and that afternoon we went the lake to see my parents. Sunday, I worked and Monday we spent most of the day at home. I managed to get all my fall decorations out and the porch and yard are decorated as well. Here are a few pics from our weekend!

Tanganyika!

Yesterday morning we left for Wichita and headed to Tanganyika! It was a blast and by far the best place that we have been to! (not that we have been to very many places lol). Ansley seemed to enjoy herself and we had a blast feeding the animals! We were there two and a half hours and left tired and hungry. Ansley was so tired that she fell asleep at the very end! :) I would highly recommend going! I took over 130 pics!!

Yes we were that close! We even got to pet them!!

Oklahoma Aquarium

Thursday morning we left about 9am for the Oklahoma Aquarium! It took us almost 3 hours to get there and had a great time! If you've never been and have small kids I would highly recommend it! It took us nearly 2 hours to get through the entire thing! Lots of hands on activities for young children to see and touch. You can touch star fish, sting rays, shrimp and lots of other fun sea life! You can also feed the turtles and shrimp!

Zach had to work so we went with grandma Teresa, Great Grandma Carolyn and Aunt Davalyn (who was here visiting from Colorado!) Thanks again for taking us with you we had a great time and can't wait to go back! It was a long day and finally made it home at 5:30. Ansley did great and really seem to enjoy watching the fish!

I'm so behind on blogging that I don't even know where to start! I guess I'll start with the most exciting, Ansley's 9 months pictures are up!!! Zach and I have both started our new jobs and we both seem to be adjusting well and enjoying our new jobs! Big change for me and I'm trying to get use to everything and in time I'm sure I will!

Our basement is officilly complete! It has been for about 2 weeks (see I'm behind) and plan to post pics soon! We love it and it's so nice to have my upstairs back to normal.

Yesterday we went to the Oklahoma Aquarium with Teresa, Carolyn and Davalyn! We had a great time and my next post will be all about our fun!

9 months!

Another month has passed and in only three short months my baby will be one!! Goodness time flies!

Pulls up to any and everything with no problem
Has stood by herself for a few seconds a few times, but doesn't seem too interested in walking yet
hasn't figured out how to walk behind/push her walker
wearing 6-9 month clothes and size 3 diapers, however at night she wears 12month sleepers
has 4 teeth and working on the 5th! Teething is not fun!
refuses to eat baby food! She is a snack junky and is a picky eater!
She is becoming quite independant and refuses to let us feed her with a spoon or fork
crawling all over the place
getting into any and everything that is not a toy!
Sleeping better at night she may wake up once, but she puts herself back to sleep and is taking naps quite well :)
refuses to wear headbands so I've started to put clips in her hair
HATES shoes!
Loves popsicles! Zach brought home some gatorade popsicles that are delicious!
Talks and talks to herself and loves making funny noises with her mouth
Would love to play with our dog Otis, but he is too scared to let her get near him! (we have a retarted dog that is scared of everything. Zach is wanting a new dog that can play with Ansley and is friendly)
uses a sippy cup with no problems
usually eats 6oz of formula during the day and 7oz before bed
Loves to play patty cake, but she won't clap! She will take your hands together and make you clap! Silly girl!
Loves to dance and will normally dance on command! :)

We just left the doctors office for Ansley 9 month check up and shots! Had 2 shots today! :( Ansley weighed in at 19lbs 5oz (50%) and is 28 3/4 inches long (90%)! Now I know why were in 12 months sleepers! lol I'm still trying to figure out where she is getting the height from! We were up for a couple of hours last night and she offically has her right front tooth in!

Ansley had her 9 month pics taken Sunday by Laura! Can't wait to see them and hope she got some good ones. She was a little cranky after outfit number 1! Laura does an amazing job and haven't been disapointed yet, so I'm sure they will be great!

Well here we are!! We officially made our first appearance in the Winfield Courier! lol. Its a great picture huh? lol I'm sure your blinded by my white body!! Anyway, Kristi, Ava, Kane, Jeff, Betsy, Emily, Ansley and I decided to go to the pool on Friday! It was a great time and is always nice to catch up with everyone. While we were playing in the baby pool the photographer from the Courier came over and asked if she could take our pic, so here we are!! Kristi and I tried to find a way out of it, but as you can see that didn't happen!

We don't get the paper, but Zach picked us up one on Saturday and I already cut it out of the paper and hope to get it laminated this week for Ansley's baby book!

Ten on Thursday

I'm a little behind on updating so here we go with a ten on Thursday!

Big CHANGES in the McCaslin house hold! Zach and I both got offered new jobs and will be starting next week! We actually got offered on the same day! I will be working for Winfield EMS and Zach will be working at Clock's medical supply as a delivery driver! I think we are both a little nervous about the new opportunities, but in the end will be better for our family! I will miss Wichita and the crazy life that people live there, but it will be nice to be closer to home and Ansley if anything ever happened.
Swimming and softball are both over for the summer and now we are enjoying our time together in the evenings!

Ansley is getting her 9 month pictures taken on Sunday! Very excited! Can't wait to see you Laura! This dress was made by Brandy and I love it!! LOVE IT! She did an awesome job and can't wait to get some pics next to my dad's John Deere tractor in it!
Girls weekend is planned for next month and I can't wait to go! We are going to Kansas City! We found an awesome second hand store there last year and are going back in hopes of finding fall/winter clothes and a halloween outfit! :)
We offically bought our first can of formula last week! YIKES that stuff is expensive! Since Brandy, Kristi, Jamie and I were all prego at the same time we traded the formula samples that you get in the mail with each other and Zach's cousin had some extra formula from their baby that they generously gave to us! As we were standing in the aisle at Walmart Zach looked at me and said "can't you start producing milk again?" too funny! I'm currently using Similac coupons, but only have 5 more left. :( if you have any that you aren't using please send them my way! :)
Zach was using the weedeater last week and accidently broke out our front door window with a rock! I swear I'm starting to think that being a home owner is not fun!
Basement is officially painted and pictures are back on the walls! just waiting on carpet then we are finished! :)
Went to my first Tastfully Simple party a couple of weeks ago and received my stuff in the mail last week! If you have never tried or been to party it is AWESOME! I'm thinking about having a party because there is so much stuff that I want to buy!
Why is it that everytime I mop the bathroom floor Ansley decides to pee on the floor while her bath water is running?! lol silly girl!

Cowley County Fair

Ansley made her appearance at the fair this year and I have to admit that she didn't seem too interested! lol Maybe next year she will be able to enjoy herself. Greg and Teresa took her to the fair on Saturday while Zach and I were out of town. We all adventured back Monday evening for her first on the carousel. My parents and Zach's parents helped Ansley enjoy her night. We visited the animals and saw the rides, but was only big enough for the carousel. Before heading home she ate some shaved ice from the snow cone booth. Grandma Teresa tried giving her an actual snow cone, but I wouldn't give in! :) I'm a mean mommy! Our trip to the fair was short lived, only there an hour and a half and headed home for bed! Too hot to stay any longer or go any earlier in the day. I'm ready for fall!

Our First Build a Bear!!!

Last friday Zach took off work early and we headed for wichita with Zach's parents to let ansley build her first build a bear! We decided on a monkey being that Ansley is our little chunky monkey. Ansley was mesmerized during the stuffing watching the lady very closely as she stuffed her monkey! We had alot of clothes to choose from but Ansley finally settled on a cute denim skirt and pink harley shirt! (Daddy didn't have anything to do with that!!!) Grandma and Grandpa McCaslin also bought her a dress and a Texas Longhorns shirt and hat! Daddy's a Longhorn fan too!

I realized that I haven't blog in a few weeks about the progress that our basement is making! It has been a long month and we still have no finished basement! Things are looking up and as of today painters are here! Trim was put up on Monday and last week Furniture Medics (name is a little ironic for me lol) came and took our entertainment center, coffee table and end tables (thanks Greg for being here when they showed up)! They are going to sand them all down and refinish them and are suppose to be delivered on the 16th! Tomorrow the construction people assured us that the painting will be finished and the carpet was ordered today! we are making PROGRESS!! :)

If you don't remember our trim before was all white. We were not a big fan of the trim and still have the white trim upstairs, but now we have beautiful oak trim with a clear finish! LOVE it!! It looks so much better and will go better with the theme down stairs! I'm hopeful in another week we will be back to living in our basement!! :)

Swimming lessons with daddy!

We finished up aqua babies last week and Ansley seemed to really enjoy herself. She even received a card stating that she passed swimming lessons! She is such a little fish in the water and I'm so glad she isn't scared of the water. On her last day of swimming I worked so daddy got to swim with her! A couple of weeks ago we went swimming with Jamie, Luke, Landen and Jaycie! Lukes aunt has an in-ground pool near Oxford and we had an awesome time swimming! All the kids loved the water and with it being 100+ degrees out what else is there to do!?! We had so much swimming with them on a Saturday that we went to the public pool on Sunday! Thanks guys we had a great time, even if some of us were hungover ;)

Swimming Lessons

I decided at the last minute to enroll Ansley into swimming lessons. I called the REC a week before the lessons started and they still had openings! I had been meaning to enroll her for weeks, but lets face it my memory is completely shot! lol. I can't remember anything anymore. It drives me crazy.

I enrolled her in aqua babies and she loves it! Its two days a week for 30 minutes. We have to get into the water with her and she has a blast playing with the ping pong ball and sponge they hand out. They of course go straight to her mouth, which I'm sure are covered in germs! yuck. I wouldn't say the instructor really teaches us anything, but she still has a blast playing in the water. On the days I work Zach gets into the water with her and I get in with her when I'm off.

Another month has passed and another month that our little monkey is getting so big! I know I say this every month, but really its been 8 months already? Here is a list of what Ansley is doing:

Used the last of breast milk last week and is now on formula
Only nursing at night (since she's still not sleeping all night)

While I was in vacation Alicia and I took Ansley to the Winfield Aquatic Center (WAC). She loved it! I figured she would since she loves bath time so much! This was our first trip to the pool and if the weather keeps up we might start going everyday!

Being at the pool brought back so many memories! I worked at the pool for 4 years and loved every minute of it! Made some great friends and made some even better memories! I became a lifeguard when I was 16 and thought it would be a great job! Great friends, an awesome tan and you can't beat swimming on a 110 degree day! As I type I'm thinking of all the crazy things that happened at the pool and the countless times that we should have been fired. You were friends with everyone at the pool and everyone hung out together even after the pool closed. I remember all the parties, stealing the alligator after hours and of course sneeking into the pool at midnight to go for a swim! Yes, we really did that! lol :) If Judy only knew! lol. (See we should have been fired several times). Awww, memories! I loved that pool and all the great friends that I made! I think you could count on Kristi and I always being together and I spent several nights sleeping at her house, or at least thats what I told my mom! lol. (I'm sure all you then WAC employee's are laughing right now and trust me I can think of quite a few of you that read my blog lol) Maybe we should have a reunion for WAC employees and steal the alligator again!! lol.

So, I was tagged a couple of days ago by Brandy with this fun little game. So here goes!

What is your stable meal? (i.e. the meal you cook most often when you can't be bothered to be adventurous)? I don't get to cook as often as I'd like. Since I work 12 hour shifts and with an hour commute each way I only cook about 2 or 3 days a week. We have chicken a lot, normally make some sort of casserole. With summer here we grill a lot and always gave potatoes on the grill!

2. What do you want to be when you grow up?
        When I was a senior in high school I wanted to be a nurse and attended Emporia State for a semester. I decided that I didn't want to go to school for four years and decided to go to Paramedic school! Best decision I've ever made! I love my job, but I've always wanted to open my own flower shop. I'm not really sure why I know nothing about flowers, but I love getting them! :) Which reminds me, my husband hasn't sent me flowers in a while :)

   3. What book are you reading at the moment (if any)?
        I occasionally read "What to expect the first year," my husband loves that book! lol jk. When I was on maternity leave I read that damn book everyday and it would drive my husband crazy with all the crap it said. I still pick it up every month or so, just to make sure our little monkey is on track with everything that she is suppose to be doing. I've relaxed a lot in the past 8 months and am trying to go with the flow when it comes to raising Ansley! She happy, chunky and healthy so we must be doing something right :)

     4. How do you relax?
         I love this question! I love being pampered! Love massages and pedicure and anything else that involves someone else taking care of me, even if its only for a few hours. :) My husband has gotten me a gift card to healing water's for the past couple of years and I love that place! BEST massages ever!

     5. What colors are your interior walls?
          We have lots of different colors in our house!  When we moved in every inch of the house was mint green! YUCK! We have painted every room, but one. Our walls are tan, red, blue, a lighter tan, green and of course Ansley's room is pink, brown and white.

     6. What is your guiltiest pleasure?
           I love little debbie brownie's! I swear I eat one everyday! I'm also addicted to Pepsi. I have a Pepsi
           a day and trust me you'll know if I haven't had my pop for the day!

     7. What time is bedtime and getting up time?
         Bedtime is normally 9:30! Yes, I am lame. Ansley gets a bath between 8-8:30 and get her ready for bed, then we get ready for the next day. Normally in the shower by 9:15 and laying in bed by 9:30. Normally, we watch TV til 10 or so. Getting up time, I hate to say it, but the days I work 4:30am! Too early!!! On my days off 7:30, when Zach brings Ansley to me before he leaves for the day. I love sleeping in and could sleep til 10 if my little monkey would let me! My one wish is for Ansley to sleep all night every night!

    8. How long do you spend reading blogs (per day or week)?
         Normally 30 minutes a day. Just depends on how busy I am at work and how Ansley is on my days off.

very bad: part II

A week has gone by since our basement was flooded. The carpet is gone and the cement is dry, but we still have fans and humidifers covering the floor in the basement. The restoration will be back today and hopefully the couch and chair are dry so the fans can leave and the rest of the work can start! The total water in the basement: 22inches!! YIKES! The construction people are suppose to call this week about redoing the sheet rock and getting the carpet laid. I'm hoping this week that we can get a lot of things accomplished and some work started. Here are some pics of the disaster. I'm pretty sure none of the pics need any explaining :(

4th of July!

On Sunday morning we headed back out to the lake to spend a few hours with our family and friends! It of course rained and about 5pm Ansley and I headed to grandma and grandpa McCaslin for a BBQ and fireworks! Zach decided to stay at the lake, so Ansley and I spent the evening with gma and gpa. I stopped by the fireworks stand on Sunday before heading to the lake! I spent $1.97! lol. I picked up some sparklers and smoke bombs so Ansley could enjoy her first 4th of July with some fireworks!! Here are a few pics from our evening. I had to work the next day, so Ansley spent the night with Greg and Teresa. She didn't seem to interested in the fireworks, so its a good thing that I only spend a couple of dollars!

Very BAD :(

I'm not sure that things could get any worse for us this week and its only Tuesday! I mentioned last week that we were planning on camping at the lake all weekend for the 4th of July. We headed for the lake early Friday afternoon and had a great time until it came to sleeping and the rain. Ansley did not sleep at all on Friday in the camper, up like 5 times! {bad, very bad} Saturday morning I decided to go home to shower and let Ansley nap in her own bed. Well, her nap lasted 45min and I was exhausted and Zach was playing GOLF! Are you kidding me, golf when I need sleep! :) He came home around noon and I took a 2 hour nap. The rain started early afternoon on Saturday so we decided to stay at home and I thought get some sleep, but nope up like 4 times Saturday night! {I think she is trying to teeth, but I haven't seen anything popping threw}Sunday morning we decided to try again at spending the day at the lake. Well, it rained again! Ansley and I came back to town around 5 on Sunday and headed to Greg and Teresa's for a BBQ and some fireworks! Zach decided to stay the night at the lake and I had to work on Monday, so Ansley spent the night with Teresa and slept really good! :)

Now, onto where things get bad. Zach came home yesterday afternoon {about 3:30) to do some laundry and unpack. He decided to take Ansley down stairs to feed her a bottle, when he stepped in a hug puddle of water. I'm not sure I can even call it a puddle more like 2 feet of water!!! Our sump pump quit working some time Monday morning (probably when the 3inches of water fell Sunday night) and flooded our basement. Its bad, I mean really bad. I was at work of course, so Zach's parents, grandparents and my dad came to help. Brandy, Fredo, Heather and Rob brought everyone dinner {Big thanks to them! We have amazing friends and don't know what we would do without them} The restoration people arrived around 8pm after Zach, his dad and my dad pumped all the water out of the basement and were there til 12:30! Ansley and I went and stayed with Greg and Teresa and I'm back at work today!

Our carpet is ruined, in about 10 pieces in our front lawn. Not sure on the coffee table, end tables, entertainment center, chair or couch yet, but we should know something today if the restoration people can save it. There are about 5 different fans and humidifiers going down stairs and up. So, my time this week will be filled with insurance people coming out, trying to find someone to replace the sheet rock and carpet and anything else that will go wrong. On the plus side of things, our TV and AC wern't ruined. We are just thankful that our insurance is going to cover it! When Teresa called them for us yesterday the guy said that flood insurance and sump pump insurance is an optional coverage!! Thank goodness we opted for that coverage because I'm not sure I want to know how much it costs for the restoration people to come out and stay until 12:30!! So that is how our week it going!! I'm not sure things could get any worse, but we are all healthy and I guess happy so that is all that matters! Until I post again, which may be a while, have a great week! Just when you think your week couldn't get any worse just think of us lol . :( I'll post pics when I have time.

I blogged on my Father's Day post that Zach was busy helping my dad with harvest and wasn't around much on Father's Day or that entire weekend. Zach enjoy's helping my dad and uncle with anything farm related. Always has and probably always will. When Zach was laid off from Hawker he spent many days helping my uncle with cattle, farming and anything else that needed to be bulit or done. He really enjoy's it and hopes one day to take over the cattle business when my dad retires! I don't see that happening anytime soon, but one day he will and I'm sure make my dad very proud!

Anyway, Ansley and I went to visit my uncle, dad and Zach in the field. She sat on the combine with my uncle, sat with daddy in the grain truck and went for a ride in the tractor with papa! Actually, we all three went for a ride in the tractor. Ansley even got to drive!! :) I remember growing up and spending many hours in the field with my dad and uncle. The best part was when we got to go to the grain elevator for a pop and a candy bar! :) Awwww, memories. I can't wait until Ansley is older and makes her own memories with papa in the field. p.s. Ansley said mama for the first time tonight! :) I fed her and put her to bed and came back to find her whining and STANDING up in the crib holding onto the side and when I walked in she said mama!! Awwww, my baby is growing up :(
